VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS EARN 51 MILLION SHARE FROM PRODUCTION INCOME

The Ministry of National Education continues to increase the production capacity of vocational high schools which is important in the practice skill development of students. Income earned from the production of vocational high schools was 503 million 197 thousand and 847 TL in 2020. Income in 2021 increased by 131% compared to the previous year and reached 1 billion 162 million and 574 liras.

Vocational high school students have the opportunity to earn a  minimum wage according to their contribution to the production while developing their practice skills. Increase in the production income of vocational schools made a positive contribution to the wages paid to students. Wages paid to students from circulating capital increased by 66% when compared to 2020 figures and reached 51 million liras.
 
"Our priority in the transformation of vocational high school was to reinforce the education-production- employment cycle. One of the steps we took within this framework was to increase the production capacity of vocational high schools.  Income in 2021 increased by 131% compared to the previous years and reached 1 billion 162 million and 574 liras. This was a record for vocational high schools. Wages paid to students from circulating capital increased by 66% when compared to 2020 figures and reached 51 million liras," said Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer.
 
İstanbul has the largest share
In 2021, students enrolled in vocational high schools in İstanbul got the highest share from production income which is equivalent to approximately 6 million liras while Ankara ranked second and İzmir ranked third in the list of students who got highest shares from the production income of vocational high schools.
