STUDENTS MEET WITH ART AS A PART OF THE "1000 SCHOOLS IN VOCATIONAL EDUCATION PROJECT"

The Ministry of National Education continues to take concrete steps as a part of the "1000 Schools in Vocational Education" project. Within the context of the project carried out by the Directorate General for Vocational and Technical Education, fine arts high school students are carrying out online activities in an effort to transfer their artistic knowledge and experience to vocational school students. Deputy Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer said that the Ministry has paired off Anatolia Fine Arts Schools in 81 cities and selected 1000 Vocational Schools. They will carry out their activities online due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Within the context of the "1000 Schools in Vocational Education" project carried out by the Directorate General for Vocational and Technical Education, volunteer fine arts high school students are carrying out online activities in an effort to transfer their artistic knowledge and experience to students at vocational schools.
 
Online activities for students who want to develop their talents in the fields of music and painting are organized in 81 cities as a part of the project aiming at reducing success differences between schools and reinforcing vocational education.
 
Under the supervision of their teachers, volunteer fine arts students are transferring their knowledge and experience in one hour online sessions for twice a week with the students of selected vocational schools.
 
Works will be shared with students and teachers at the Ministry's website
It is expected that students who are following painting activities will enter the contest with a painting that they draw in the light of the knowledge they obtain from online sessions.
 
Students who attend music activities will apply to the contest with a personal video they recorded during the activities.
 
All works will be shared with students and teachers at the end of April on "My Profession, My life" platform of the Ministry of National Education.  
 
Award winning works will be announced on May 24 at https://mtegm.meb.gov.tr
 
At the end of two month long activity which has been carried out under the coordination of Minister Advisor Dr. Aylin Şengün Taşçı, the jury comprising of teachers will announce the first, second and third prize winners of the contest.
 
First awards winners will receive laptop computers, second and third award winners will receive tablets as a present.

Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer stressed that 1000 Schools in Vocational Education is a large project that includes teachers, students, parents and the school environment. 
 
Noting that the Ministry has taken concrete steps about every component of the project, Özer stated, "Our activities concerning the project continue as planned. One of the purposes of the project was to support students of selected 1000 vocational schools to develop their cultural and artistic skills. Within this framework, we paired off Anatolia Fine Arts Schools in 81 cities and selected 1000 Vocational Schools. They will carry out their activities online due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It will be an important project in terms of establishing solidarity between schools and peer education."
