REVENUES EARNED FROM THE PRODUCTIONS OF VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOLS INCREASED BY 100 PERCENT IN THE LAST TWO YEARS

Despite Covid-19 pandemic, revenues earned from the productions of Vocational High Schools has increased by 100 percent and has reached 503 million 197 thousand and 847 liras when compared with the figures of 2018. Noting that the Vocational High Schools especially focused on mask, disinfectants and ventilator productions during the pandemic, Deputy Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer said the Ministry has decided to increase the capacity of these schools in 2021.

Despite the new type of corona virus (Covid-19) pandemic, revenues gained by the  vocational schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education increased more than 100 percent in the last two years and reached 503 million 197 thousand and 847 liras. 
The production capacity of vocational schools continue to increase in the last two years and make an important contribution to the development of practice skills of students. Income of the vocations schools was 248 million 608 thousand and 785 liras in 2018 and it reached 400 million in 2019.
 
Although schools were closed for a long time due to the Covid-19 pandemic, increase in the production capacity of vocational schools continued last year. When compared with the figures of 2018, revenues of vocational schools increased more than 100 percent in 2020 and reached 503 million 197 thousand and 847 liras.
 
Deputy Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer stated that the Ministry has been working in an effort to increase the production capacity of vocational schools and reinforce the "education-production-employment" cycle. Noting that as a result of successful projects and planning, the income of these schools increased by more than 100 percent, Özer said, "Despite difficulties experienced due to Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, vocational schools transformed their production portfolio in order to overcome production problems. They especially focused on the production of masks, disinfectants, face shields, mask machines and ventilators."
 
"İstanbul, Ankara and İzmir earned the highest income"
Özer noted that vocational schools in İstanbul, Ankara and İzmir earned the highest income adding that "last year, vocational schools in İstanbul earned 61 million liras, schools in Ankara earned 40 million liras and schools in İzmir earned 25 million from their productions".
 
Özer listed the names of the schools who scored largest production and earned the highest income, he stated that İstanbul Küçükçekmece Nahit Menteşe Vocational and Technical Anatolia High School ranked first in the list with 10 million income, Gaziantep Şahinbey Mehmet Rüştü Uzel Vocational and Technical Anatolia High School ranked second with 7.4 million income and Kütahya Prof. Dr. Necmettin Erbakan Vocational and Technical Anatolia High School ranked third with 7.3 million income.
 
"The share of teachers and students increased by 100 percent"
Özer stressed that teachers and students get a share from the income of vocational high schools adding that, "In 2018, teachers received 31 million and 232 thousand liras which corresponds to their share from the circulating capital and this amount increased to 74 million 522 thousand and 847 liras in 2020. We have seen that share of teachers increased by 139 percent in the last two years. Similarly, the share of the students which was 14 million 236 thousand liras in 2018 increased to 30 million 589 thousand and 490 liras in 2020. Consequently, the share of students in the come of vocational schools increased by 115 percent in the last two years.
 
Özer also thanked Directorate General for Vocational and Technical Education, all regional directors of national education, school principals, teachers and students for their contribution to the success of vocational schools.
