MINISTER ÖZER SHARED TEKNOFEST EXCITEMENT OF STUDENTS

Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer, got  together with students in the İstanbul Aviation, Space and Technology Festival TEKNOFEST'21 organized at the the Atatürk Airport."


TEKNOFEST, which began on August 31 with contests, continues.

Turkey's first Aviation, Space and Technology Festival opened its doors to visitors for the fourth time at the İstanbul Atatürk Airport.

The Ministry of National Education attended the festival with a-800 person team including students, teachers and ministry staff.

Directorates of General of Support Services, Innovation and Education Technologies, Special Education and Guidance Services, Religious Education, Life-long Learning, Secondary and Basic Education have been carrying out TEKNOFEST activities on behalf of the Ministry under the coordination of Directorate General for Vocational and Technical Education.

Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer got together with students who have been enjoying the excitement of the festival. Minister Özer visited stands, chatted with students and received information about the contests and projects. Noting that the Ministry took an active role in the festival with 800 participants from 8 directorates general, Özer thanked all who contributed to the process.

Minister Özer stressed that TEKNOFEST is very important for students and their adaptation to different points of views and went on to say that:

"I would like to express my gratitude especially to the Ministry of Industry and Technology, Selçuk Bayraktar and all of his colleagues for organizing TEKNOFEST. Our President recently made very important contributions to the defense industry and particularly to the local and national defense industry. We have made important improvements in all fields of the defense industry. I believe that it will be an important gain if our youngsters who are enrolled in levels of education institutions concentrate on the defense industry of Turkey. With the will of Allah's permission, production will make Turkey stronger. As much as it focuses on the defense industry, robotics and space crafts, Turkey will have more presence in its region and in the World."

TEKNOFEST stands

Among the eye-catching projects of the festival is the ball collecting and throwing robots developed by teachers and students of Borusan Asım Kocabıyık Vocational and Technical Anatolia High School, Arnavutköy İbrahim Özaydın Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School and Ümraniye Atatürk Vocational and Technical Anatolia High School. This project won awards in the national and international contests before.

There are 24 contestants in the automated vehicle category of TEKNOFEST. Borsa İstanbul Başakşehir Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School competed in the high school level with "driverless", "remote controlled" and "with driver" vehicle projects.

Products such as masks, disinfectants, colognes produced by vocational high schools as well as their mechanical ventilators and mask machines were on display at the festival.

This year, BİLSEMs attended the festival with 200 teams. 15 teams are competing in the Smart Transportation category, 2 teams are competing in the Biotechnology Innovation category, 28 teams are competing in the Education Technologies category, 120 teams are competing in the Technology in the Technology for the Benefit of Humanity category, 3 teams are competing in the Robotics category, 2 teams are competing in the Flying Car Design category, 15 teams are competing in the UAV category, 16 teams are competing in the Environment and Energy Technologies category, 5 teams are competing in the Unmanned Underwater Systems category, 2 teams are competing in the Agriculture Technologies category, 5 teams are competing in theTourism Technologies category, 2 teams are competing in the International Unmanned Air Vehicles category, one team is competing in the Efficiency Challenge Electrical Vehicle category, one team is competing in the Digital Technologies in Industry category, one team is competing in fighting the UAV and 3 teams are competing in the Rocket category.

Science education materials produced for school labs by Training Materials Production Center are exhibited in the Directorate General for Support Services stand.

Directorate General for Secondary Education is introducing visual materials broadcasted in the EBA high school channel during the distance education and skill based activity books in its stand as well as ogmmateryal.eba.gov.tr portal.

Productions of public training centers and advanced technical schools for girls affiliated to the Directorate of General for Life-long Learning are also on display.

The Directorate General for Religious Education displayed Successful Examples Project exhibition, the Erdem 2021 Support Project and contemporary and visual arts exhibition of music and calligraphy, Quran Recital Project, Goal 2021 Academic Support Project and Hisar Innovation System Robotics Projects in the festival. Moreover, Anatolia imam hatip high schools were promoted in foreign languages.

Meanwhile Directorate General for Basic Education introduced My Game Chest Family Material Set, Early Childhood Education Calendar, Education in Primary Schools Program (İYEP) education materials, TRT EBA Kindergarten, Primary and Secondary School lesson videos, digital content applications, printed education materials, inclusive early childhood education project story books, Smart Farm Project and History of Aviation from Past to Future Project to visitors.

Production with Informatics Project, EBA platform promotion, Android TV, EBA Support Point, Pardus software and example applications in tablets were on display at the Directorate General for Innovation and Education Technologies (YEĞİTEK) stand.
