A BRAND NEW ERA CONCERNING CULTURE AND VALUES

Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer announced that his Ministry has completed a project concerning culture literacy during his visit to Bilecik, the birthplace of the Ottoman Empire. "We will make a general assessment on students who will go to summer schools this year about their cultural codes and values and start a new teaching and internalizing process."

Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer paid a visit to Bilecik in order to attend provincial national education assessment meetings and meet with Bilecik governor's office.
 
Minister Özer attended meetings last week about education problems of Adıyaman, Kars, İzmir and Bursa and then attended provincial meetings in Bilecik in order to discuss plans to increase the quality of education.
 
"For years, we have been talking about Turkish literacy, mathematics literacy and science literacy but we fail to mention culture literacy. It is a crucial matter. I have decided to give good news about this matter in Bilecik as it is the birthplace of the Ottoman Empire. Based on the general assessment of students, we will start a brand new process about teaching and internalizing cultural codes and values," said Özer.
 
Minister Özer reminded that the Ministry has decided to open summer schools in order to help students to overcome learning loss that occurred during Covid-19 pandemic.
 
"Focus of the Ministry of National Education is to reinforce and improve Turkish literacy and we are working on a new methodology in order to improve four skills of students namely understanding, hearing, writing and reading," noted Minister Özer.
 
Investment budget of Bilecik increased to 527 million liras
After the provincial national education assessment meeting in Bilecik, the Minister of National Education mentioned the investment budget of the city.
 
Özer noted that they have decided to increase the investment budget of Bilecik to 527 million liras. Additional allocation will be used for the reinforcement of school buildings and construction of a primary school, a secondary school and a special education kindergarten buildings.
